Architectural Technician Scotland
This Company is one of Scotlandís leading manufacturers of Timber Frame homes and Roof Structures. Their clients range from private individuals to large National building and construction companies. Due to continued expansion, they require an additional Architectural Technician to join the in house design team.
Key Responsibilities will include: Preparation of technical and construction drawings, details and specifications suitable for accompanying applications for planning and building warrant approvals all in line with project budgets. Identifying and managing risk through proper coordination of design information in line with project programmes. Coordinating with external consultants and suppliers to ensure consistent designs are delivered. Producing detailed drawings and specifications suitable for design team to fulfil obligations in preparation of tendering and construction information. Produce detailed construction information suitable for site teams to deliver built product without compromise to programme, quality, health & safety and cost. Providing suitable support to site teams to ensure compliance with statutory requirements (planning, building control, NHBC etc) and to identify improvements in construction detailing and techniques.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: Strong design awareness combined with a proven capability for producing quality drawings and detailed construction experience. 5 years minimum post qualification experience preferably from a Timber design background. Knowledge of current Scottish Planning & Building Standards Regulations. Sound awareness of CDM Regs. and NHBC Standards Experience of working with Auto Cad and MS Office suite is essential. Keen team player willing to buy into the culture of a growing company.
